Congratulations to all who took place in the Clinical Audit Presentation Evening on Thursday, May 19th.  The standard of audits was high and picking winners was a difficult task for the judges.

A huge congratulations to our DDUH staff members Dr PJ Byrne (2019-2020) and Dr David McReynolds (2020-2021) on receiving The Dean of Health Science Award for Outstanding Contribution to Teaching in Professional Practice.

The Odontology Section of The Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland would like to thank our speaker, Dr Advan Moorthy and attendees of our second event of this academic year on Monday 11th April 2022 on 'Optimising Anterior Fixed Restorations.' This synchronous online event enjoyed a large attendance, where Dr Moorthy showcased the results of an optimised assessment, planning and implementation process for the delivery of clinical excellence when applying prosthodontic work to aesthetically-demanding clinical scenarios. This lecture and Q&A session was recorded for asynchronous access. Congratulations to Dr David McReynolds, who graduated on 16th March 2022 with The Professional Special Purpose Certificate in Academic Practice from CAPSL (Centre for Academic Practice and Student Learning) at Trinity College Dublin with 1st Hons. 

The Dublin Dental University Hosital observed a minute's silence yesterday at 12pm to honour those who have died in Ukraine and for our healthcare colleagues in Ukraine who are working tirelessly and in great danger to continue to treat people in the most difficult circumstances.

On International Women’s Day 2022, Dr Alison Dougall was awarded the prestigious John Tomes medal by the Royal College of Surgeons of England and she accepted the award at the brand new RCS building in Lincolns Inn Fields, accompanied by Professor Blanaid Daly Dean of Dental Science, DDUH at the first in-person ceremony since the start of the pandemic.
